Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: March 20, 2026 · Last Updated: March 20, 2026

1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Lawlify is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone who visits our website and strive to ensure that our digital content is accessible to all users, including those who rely on assistive technologies.

We believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and we are dedicated to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. Accessibility is not just a legal obligation — it is a core value that reflects our commitment to serving all members of the legal community equitably.

2. Conformance Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and are widely recognized as the international standard for web accessibility.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance addresses the following four principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, and content that can be presented in different ways without losing meaning.
  • Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable. This includes making all functionality available from a keyboard, providing users enough time to read and use content, and designing content that does not cause seizures or physical reactions.
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. This includes making text readable and understandable, making web pages appear and operate in predictable ways, and helping users avoid and correct mistakes.
  • Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. This includes ensuring compatibility with current and future user tools.

In addition to WCAG 2.1, we also consider compliance with applicable provisions of:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Title III of the ADA, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation, has been interpreted to apply to websites.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: While primarily applicable to federal agencies, Section 508 standards inform our accessibility practices.
  • California Government Code Section 7405: Which requires that state entities' electronic and information technology be accessible to people with disabilities.

3. Measures We Have Taken

Lawlify has taken the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:

3.1 Design and Development Practices

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML5 semantic elements (headings, landmarks, lists, buttons, links) to ensure that content is structured logically and can be navigated by assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements on our Site are accessible via keyboard, including navigation menus, form fields, buttons, and links. We ensure that focus indicators are visible and that focus order follows a logical sequence.
  • Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background colors to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Text Alternatives: We provide meaningful alt text for all informative images and decorative images are properly marked so they are ignored by screen readers.
  • Responsive Design: Our Site is designed to be fully responsive, functioning correctly across a wide range of screen sizes, devices, and orientations. Content reflows appropriately and is usable at up to 200% zoom without loss of functionality.
  • Form Accessibility: All form fields include associated labels, clear instructions, and appropriate error messages. Required fields are clearly identified, and form validation errors are communicated in an accessible manner.
  • Link Purpose: Links are written to be meaningful and descriptive so that users can understand the purpose of each link from its text alone or from its context.
  • Language: The primary language of each page is identified in the HTML markup to assist screen readers and other assistive technologies in presenting content correctly.

3.2 Ongoing Efforts

  • Regular Auditing: We periodically audit our Site for accessibility compliance using both automated tools and manual testing methods.
  • Assistive Technology Testing: We test our Site with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Staff Training: Our development and content teams receive training on accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines.
  • Third-Party Assessment: We may engage third-party accessibility experts to conduct independent assessments of our Site.
  • Continuous Improvement: When accessibility issues are identified — whether through testing, user feedback, or evolving standards — we prioritize their resolution in our development process.

4. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content on our Site may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and resolve these issues. Known limitations include:

  • Third-Party Content: Some third-party content, widgets, or embedded services (such as calendar scheduling tools or analytics scripts) may not be fully accessible. We work with third-party providers to improve accessibility and select providers with strong accessibility commitments where possible.
  • PDF Documents: Some downloadable documents may not yet be fully accessible. We are working to ensure that all documents are available in accessible formats. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us.
  • Dynamic Content: Some dynamically loaded content, such as animations and transitions, may not be fully compatible with all assistive technologies. We use appropriate ARIA attributes and roles to improve compatibility, but some edge cases may remain.

We view accessibility as an ongoing effort and are committed to addressing these limitations as part of our continuous improvement process.

5. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our Site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software (including Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Switch access devices
  • Browser-based accessibility tools and extensions

Our Site is designed to be compatible with the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome (latest two major versions)
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest two major versions)
  • Apple Safari (latest two major versions)
  • Microsoft Edge (latest two major versions)

8. Assessment and Methodology

Lawlify assesses the accessibility of our website through the following methods:

  • Self-Evaluation: Our development team conducts regular self-evaluations using automated accessibility testing tools and manual review processes.
  • Automated Testing: We use industry-standard automated testing tools to identify potential accessibility issues. While automated tools can identify many common accessibility problems, they cannot detect all issues, which is why we supplement automated testing with manual review.
  • Manual Testing: Key pages and user flows are tested manually using keyboard navigation and screen readers to verify accessibility beyond what automated tools can detect.
  • User Feedback: We consider feedback from users with disabilities as a valuable component of our accessibility assessment process.
